Today there was an open day in a newly opened foto studio: Atelier Vama so after finish teaching my workshop I went there for the last half hour there few models and a bunch of photographers that you can see below.

Day 7, this is getting harder

Well, one week after I decide to start this project of a photo per day and is getting harder (which is good). I am falling sleep so no comments today.  Just I hope you like the photos.

Both taken at ISO 1600 and 3200 respectively.

Day 1, so far it looks easy.

Well, here I am with my first photo of this 365 project. I will limit at the most per 3 images per day even I think there will be days I will suffer to make at least one decent photograph.
Not sure what you will want to I write about, the technical details? the reason why I choose that image or what inspired me to take it? But for now, I will write what come to my mind.

 After pick up my son from his summer class I saw this old woman on our way back home. I asked the woman if I could photograph her dog and she gently accepted. The dog was a good model.

This photo was inspired by many of the similar photos I have seen featured in photography online magazines, sometimes I found them boring and sometimes beautiful.

Same as before, I liked the shadows. Enjoying simple things now.

Art in the streets of Brno

Currently under the main station of Brno has been installed a series of artworks as part of the project called Galerie Myšina in which they make the street an art gallery. I like idea and although is not new is good that someone decide to use the dark walls of the corridors under the station and put some color on them.
The project this time presents artists from the faculty of fine arts of the Brno university of technology and from the Escola Massana University in Spain so is nice to see artworks from international artist.

Brno is a small city, but despite of that it has some "strange" attractions, here two of them:

First an urinary located at the faculty of arts of the Brno University of Technology. Obviously nobody use it.

In a not so quiet night...

These photographs are a small series titled: In a not so quiet night... They are images of fireworks and were taken during the fireworks festival of Ignis brunensis, in my city, Brno.

About my photoss of cosplayers.

Three days ago I added a new gallery to my portfolio section in website, the gallery is a selection of my portraits of cosplayers that I have done in the past years while attending the anime convention Anime fest in the city of Brno.  My images have over-saturated colors, they are not “real” but my intention is not to represent reality. Anime and coplay is about fantasy and therefore in my photographs I want to show that fantasy, that unreal world of rich colors and fictional characters.

For me they are portraits of people who has the valor, courage, craziness and dare to live their dream at least for a day, incarnating someone they admire or like. Obviously some just want to have fun but still require courage to dress like that and go out to the streets.

In a Czech bar...

Last weekend I made a little trip to Slavkov u Brna, a small town outside Brno. Its main attraction is is a castle  which unfortunately does not allow photography inside :( , so this post wont be about my photos of  castle however after my tour I went to a restaurant to have lunch but instead of sit on the bar and order a beer, open my notebook and start to make notes of some ideas for some poems I had in my head. After approximately five minutes a girl come and sat two sits next to me and something of her called  my attention, her ring, I don't know why I had the curiosity to ask her to make some shoots of it. So in my poor Czech I asked if I could and for my surprise she agreed, then I asked her friends who were working in the restaurant if I could make some portraits of them and they said yes too. 

I am not very into photographing strangers but is good to surprise yourself from time time and try something different. To break the ice there is no better "weapon" that a sincere smile.

a Brno girl 17 - Marketa

One of the most interesting girls I have met is Marketa. I contacted her first for my series Intimacy, She works in a local art gallery and therefore she is surrounded by artworks so I decided to make a  bit of art with her and her name:

Minuscule stars have fallen from the promised sky when
A confused slave dared to ignore your dark eyes.
